As we turn the corner of August, it’s almost time for school to start again. Filled with new beginnings, it’s always an exciting time of year, and not just for students — it can be for skin, too.
August is the perfect time to renew skin with an end-of-summer deep exfoliation. As your clients go about their busy lives, whether it’s at school, work or elsewhere, they can keep skin fresh throughout the day with products that enhance their skin care routines.
THE BENEFITS OF EXFOLIATING
Exfoliation is the process of shedding the outermost layer of dead skin cells, bringing fresher, younger skin to the surface. Exfoliating has countless benefits, including:
- A brighter, more radiant complexion
- Smoother skin
- Less noticeable pores, lines and wrinkles
- Improved appearance of breakouts
- Significantly better absorption of serums, moisturizers and other products.
Our bodies naturally shed dead skin, but they do so slowly, causing flakiness, roughness and clogged pores. To help clients get the benefits of a fresh, young layer of skin, the shedding process can be sped up using exfoliating products.
There are two main types of exfoliants: physical exfoliants and chemical exfoliants. Physical exfoliants like our Vita-B enzyme Polish contain tiny polishing spheres that use gentle friction to remove dead skin. Chemical exfoliants like our Glycolic gel and pads uses acids to dissolve the bonds holding dead cells in place, releasing them and clearing pores.
Exfoliants come in different strengths and sizes. For patients who have never exfoliated before, we recommend starting with gentler chemical formulas such as our
Glycolic Gel or Glycolic Gel Pad, containing beta-hydroxy acids like salicylic acid. We recommend starting exfoliating around once per week; then, the more often someone exfoliates, the faster the new skin will grow, and they can ramp up to exfoliating as much as once or even twice daily.
Enhance To Perfection
As your clients go about their day, they may occasionally find they want a little extra product to freshen up. Outside of morning and evening skincare routines, moisturizers in particular can help promote skin vitality during long days in the classroom or office.
We particularly recommend eye products. The eye area is prone to poor drainage and capillary damage, especially when someone is stressed out, causing wrinkles, dark spots and crow’s feet. Our Ultra-Benefits Eye Gel and Ultra-Firming Eye are both excellent formulas for improving the appearance of dark spots, lines and wrinkles around the eyes to restore a youthful glow. Both of these formulas can be taken on-the-go and applied as necessary throughout the day.
LUKSO NeuroCosmetics wishes you a smooth transitions this September, and we’re excited for your new beginnings!
